| It is such a cliche to say that I’ve been taking photographs since I was a child, but I’ve been taking photographs since I was a child. I took my first one when I was two, with an old Kodak Brownie camera that belonged to my dad. I remember taking photographs with a Polaroid, and many other cameras belonging to my parents when I was very little. By the time I was eleven or twelve I had my own simple 126 format camera and progressed from there. I spent my teens working in camera stores and developing labs trying to learn as much as possible about photography. It was rare to see me without a camera or sketchbook. I live in the country near Rocky Mountain House with my husband and a poodle that runs the place (as poodles are known to do). Our land is surrounded by wilderness and the wildlife that I love so much (except when it’s big, carnivorous, and the poodle is chasing after it!). I show and sell my work regularly in galleries and exhibitions around the province. |
